Well I have owned the CX-3 now for 3 weeks and I have a overwhelming desire to supplement the boot lighting so I will be replacing the existing boot light bulb with a led bulb and installing a second led light on the other side the boot before the nights close in.

The glovebox light will be swapped for a led bulb as well, it took me a while to realise there was even a glovebox light.

Don't think there is an upgrade to boot lighting, I wanted to do that also. The only upgrade for boot comes as part of the interior LED lighting kit but it is still useless!

There is a kit for boot lights but not sure what it comprises.

The LED lighting set I bought from ebay (not official) is plenty bright for glovebox, boot & interior.

I'd be tempted to go for a small motion sensor light like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Upgraded-Kingl ... r+car+boot

and just charge it from the cars USB port...

Whilst there isn't an official kit of extra boot lighting for the CX-3, the set for the CX-5 is here - https://www.mazda.co.uk/buying-owning/a ... 830V1620E/ Not sure how easy it would be to mount them in the CX-3.

Once you've settled on a 12v LED light fitting, and decided on somewhere suitable to fit it within the boot space, it will be a doddle to crimp pos. & neg. wires to the existing boot light wiring.

I used a couple of 12v white led trailer marker lights, used these in a number of vehicles in the past, just remember to wire them in after the boot light switch so that they can be turned off if you need to, I surface mounted mine.

If I need more light in my boot, I can use my small multi-led torch from Poundland that lights up the whole area very nicely indeed :) Has the bonus of being flexible so it can also light up the glove box area when required
