Received a letter from Mazda HQ today to say that they want me to have the engine drive belt and fuel filter drain plug replaced at my local dealer at my earliest convenience.

"...to avoid any potential future concern... will take approximately 1½ hours..."

(Campaign ID AF059A/AF068A) I've not checked for Technical Service Bulletins, so I don't know what range of VIN's these particular campaigns relate to.

Timing of the letter could have been better, lol, as it would have been convenient to take the car into a dealer one day during the last two weeks as I've been on holiday, but I start work again on Monday

Oh well, perhaps get it done on a Saturday. 1st service is due next month, so may bring that forward and get it all done at the same time.

Just booked my service for the end of the month, I always try and get the first one done just before the 1st year is up as it doesn't give them any wriggle room, they have agreed that the A/C needs looking at and the info system is in desperate need of an upgrade, no mention of any recalls so I guess that is a diesel recall. Added bonus as I was speaking to them in dropped an email offering a extra 10% off, told them that it would be included in the service as well, glad they had just given me the price :)

Had the same notification via letter, email and text. i'm between first and second service so will be booking in especially. Anyone any thoughts on the work:

'At Mazda we continue to monitor quality and during these ongoing checks it has been found there are two areas of your Mazda that may affect it's future reliability, which is something that we want to address and therefore request that your cat is checked at your earliest convenience. The two areas relate to an engine drive belt and the sealing of a drain plug on the fuel filter'

Work will take 1 1/2 hours apparently ?

I thought it was the same engine as used in the 2 series, anyone have any whiff of a special service program for them ?

1st service done today (which is pretty much just an engine oil and filter change) and had the fuel filter and drive belt replaced. 2.5 hours in total.
The air con. packed up yesterday, :( so my dealer has ordered a new condenser.
