Does anyone have an idea of the tyre life on the factory fitted 18" tyres, I'm up to 13k but wondered when I should think about replacing them?

Every tyre has a handy little tread wear indicator.

yes I know, when they are worn is not an issue, it was more of a question of what is their likely life, Garry seems to indicate 35k to 40k if you drive like miss daisy (or me :) ), plus I tend to change early if they would be near the wear indicator certainly if it is this time of year.

Gus, if I remember, I'll have a look for my depth gauge and see how much tread depth I have remaining. My car has done just over 13K. Am I correct in thinking that new tyres have 8mm?

(For those that don't know, UK law requires car tyres to have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm in a continuous band around the central three quarters of the tyre. The Tread Wear Indicators are moulded to show roughly 1.6mm, but it's probably best not to go below 3mm)
Julian.

I think you are almost almost right :) For the Toyo Proxes CF-2 215/50 R18 size tyre fitted to the Sport Nav model in the UK - at least to mine anyway - according to the Toyo website their depth is 7.9mm :)
