I'm tempted by this, along with the footwell welcome lights...

An hours labour to install?

I haven't seen the installation instructions, but the description indicates they're just battery powered, so it's probably just peel & stick & therefore very quick to install on a clean door cill.

I don't have a problem with scuffs there on the paintwork, (I tend to scuff the black plastic on the inside if anything). If those plates are to protect from scuffs, don't you just end up scuffing the aluminium plate instead? IMHO, they'll look nice if not scuffed, but are a bit pricey for what they are.

Welcome lighting looks nice too, but in my view will not be on long enough to warrant the cost, unless you get them wired so you can switch them on manually. But then they'd probably just be distracting whilst driving, and there isn't really anything in the footwells worth illuminating :)

I missed that one!

Wonder if it needs any wiring or if just clips in place of the standard mirror?

Didn't spot they are battery powered...wonder how they switch on and off....

There is a similar set listed for the CX5 which refers to an additional wiring harness....

I'm sure the welcome pack kit can be reworked via a switch to keep them on. I had a similiar set up on my Honda CRZ and it was great, along with a "glow pack" which illuminated the door pockets and speaker rings...now that was expensive !

If it's like the one I fitted on my C30 then there's a plug hidden in the headliner.

On the CX-5, the plug is near the bottom of the A pillar.

I've been quoted the following costs by my local dealer:

Accessories part number price fitting total
auto dip mirror DD2F-V1-740 116.83 74.76 191.59
welcome pack - kit C851-V7-057A 34.24 0 34.24
welcome pack - harness C850-V7-055A 28.6 0 28.6
illuminated scuff plates D10F-V1-370 109.6 32.04 141.64
289.27 396.07

yes, you are reading that right - they have quoted nil hours to install the footwell welcome lighting kit....

I was quoted £160.18 to supply and fit the mirror.
