Hi all, just taken delivery of my first cx3, a 2019 GT sport nav +in ceramic metallic. Quite happy with it so far, but will probably get it chipped as seems a bit underpowered

Good morning, sorry to jump on your post. I have recently purchased a cx-3 19 plate too and was wondering about remapping it as well. It is a skyactiv-g 121bhp auto. What sort of figures are you expecting to get with a remap? Best regards

I got a modest 10% power & torque increase.
I think you can get an upgrade to the 150bhp as per the 4wd version or a tune to 180bhp but don't know what that will do for drivability or reliability.

Does mapping these petrol engines actually make much of a difference? Usually mapping normal aspirated engines only adds a bit of extra power and torque at the top of the rev range.

To get real gains you need to be adding a free flow manifold/exhaust and adding higher lift cams at significant cost. 121bhp from a 2.0 petrol hampered by an auto box is pretty feeble by modern standards.

Tuner says he can get 175 bhp, will see , not 100% decided yet, but can always be put back to standard if it proves to be not much difference.

Didn't realise that this 120bhp version is actually a detuned version of the 150bhp engine. What possessed Mazda to do this? Co2 emissions and fuel consumption improvements to meet stricter standards I guess.
