Whilst cleaning the interior of my car I found this plastic clip under the front passenger seat.

Nothing on or under the seat seems to be loose and the manual seat reclines and moves as normal on its runners, the seat belt and its attachments operate as normal.

There are no part numbers on the clip, which is 2.5 cms long. One small "wing" or "blade" on the left arm of the U has snapped off and is nowhere to be seen.

Does anyone know where this clip may have come from and what its function might be?

Thanks for any info.

Over 60 views and no answer yet.

Perhaps the skills of Inspector Clousseau and Columbo are needed too.

After some backbreaking investigative work with a torch in the depths of the footwell behind the front seats I think I have solved the mystery, it is a non functional cover that was attached to the end of the metal seat runner.
