Hi all,
I am aware that the door mirrors can be set to fold automatically when locking but what about when stationary or moving slowly. As often happens when driving small counrty lanes it is necessay to fold the mirrors to get abit more passing room. Other than opening the window and folding manually I can't find any other way to do it. My previous three cars have all been able to fold the mirrors on the move (up to 10mph) so it's not something new. In my opinion it would be really remiss of Mazda to leave this out in favour of the pretty much pointless heated sterring wheel.
Any ideas folks?

Car sold - but still following Mazda.
You should be able to power fold/unfold the door mirrors at any time the ignition is on using the control on the driver's door armrest. You can on my model, and I don't see anything to the contrary in the 2017 owner's manual.

Hi I haven't got it yet. It is due for delivery early December but I was looking in the owners manual in the dealership and could only find the way of adjusting the mirror angle. Maybe I am jumping the gun a bit but all my previous cars have had a separate switch and I couldn't make out how it works on the CX-3.

Ah OK.
On pre-2017 models, the dial on the armrest that alters the mirror angle can be rotated 180° to the fold-in position. I think on the 2017 models it's either that dial or two switches, one for fold-in and one for fold-out.

On the 2017 the folding is in a button below the adjustment dial (and above the windows switches).
To fold, You press the lower end of the button and to unfold You press the upper end of the button.
When the button is in neutral position it's in auto-fold mode.
It's described on page 3-36 in the UK manual.

The mirrors don’t extend much beyond the body work. I’d rather use the mirror as cats whiskers and scrape those rather than the bodywork.

that is standard - you need a plug in module (c£75 + fitting) for the mirrors to autofold when you lock the car

it is an easy DiY fit if you are comfortable taking the door card off

It's not normal for folded door mirrors to unfold when you turn on the ignition, unless you turned the dial on the armrest before pressing the engine start/stop button.
