Hi,
I have a couple of questions on servicing. I own a 2018 CX-3, bought from a main dealer. I've kept up with all required servicing at the same dealer, so it has a Mazda full service history. Current millage is 74,965. My Mazda DSR says its next service (due soon) will be its 7th. I've moved house and no longer live near any official Mazda dealer/service centres. I'm wondering what my options are...
I would have liked to continue getting services done by a 'Mazda' affiliated/recognised service centre, but a) it's not convenient and b) I'm not prepared to travel far (50+ miles), so I have resigned myself to using a non-Mazda service centre going forward. So my Q's are; I guess that will effectively end my Mazda DSR? However if an independent garage can access/update my DSR, is that worth pursuing? How would they know what is required for my Mazda's 7th service interval? And I guess the wider question is, if I have to give up on the DSR, how would I or any garage know what checks/work is required for my next and future services... or do I just ask for a full service and hope that covers everything? TIA

The items for inspection, tightening or replacement at each scheduled service interval are in a table in the Owner's Manual.
Your DSR can be updated by an independent operator (IO) if they have registered their business with Mazda.
If your chosen IO tells you they are not registered, you can get the service done and email a copy of the service invoice, which should detail parts and lubricants used, to Mazda Customer Relations mmukassistance@mazdaeur.com and ask them to update your DSR.

Many thanks for your reply. I wasn't aware of that last part, so fingers crossed it will hopefully work out ok for me because I have since booked my car into a local IO and they advised that they have not registered their business with Mazda. I had resigned myself to leaving the Mazda servicing/DSR path, mainly due to the age/milage/value of the car, Mazda's servicing costs and the distance to my nearest Mazda service centre, but if there's a chance I can keep the DSR alive then all the better. Like yourself-I live some distance away from a Mazda dealer and have only used them for the 2021 fuel pump recall and occasional advice
My local independent garage is close by and does all the service and maintenance necessary, plus new tyres when appropriate . My key benefit being that their workshop is five minutes away or a 20 min walk. Costs are a little cheaper, and they are obliging, thorough and responsive.
Of course I would still use a Mazda dealer if absolutely necessary-but at nearly 7 yrs old , this vehicle gets the good attention I expect and require

Just wanted to say thanks for your advice. I got my CX-3 serviced at a local IO and then emailed the itemised service invoice to the Mazda Customer Relations email address you provided. They replied within 1 hour, advising they had updated my DSR, and attached a copy of it (in PDF form). The Mazda app also shows the latest details too.
Cheers, Mikey
You’re welcome. Glad to read it worked out ok for you.
