Please read through the thread and all the steps i followed are outlined. How many services has your car had at Mazda dealers before you purchased it?

The first belt that was replaced, I did myself after buying a belt online for about £70. For the second belt I wanted to be sure that Mazda UK would pay before I commited.

When I rang Mazda UK, the guy I spoke to was almost certain that they would cover the replacement and the diagnostic fee. This is why I then contacted my local dealer (who have I used for about 8 services on two cars) and I guess I was prepared to pay the £114 diagnostic fee as a worst case scenario.

I assume Mazda just claims back the costs from the parts manufacturer. For the diagnostic check it helps to book a waiting appointment then you are waiting for 30 minutes or so and not hours!
