Is there any advantage in buying the genuine mazda carplay module ( priced at about £250) over the amazon variants ( priced at £70-£80).

Bought HMYC unit from Amazon and just installed, now having problem with battery drain overnight, two nights running has left battery dead each morning. I assume unit is faulty since it doesn't seem possible to wire it incorrectly however need to carry out some further tests to confirm this is the cause of the drain. Also going to try HMYC support but not too hopeful!
No power apparent at hub when ignition off, at least none evident when connecting phone to usb port. Removed power to hub just now and charging battery to leave overnight in case some other source of battery drain since checking for parasitic draw with multimeter didn't prove either way. HMYC support did actually reply but suggested leaving lights on overnight was likely the cause of dead battery, overlooking that it has happened 3 consecutive nights and lights were definitely off! Will be going back to them tomorrow with an update though I am starting to doubt if it is the hub after all. I can feel an expensive visit to auto electrician coming up!
