Ouch, it could be they are more expense for the CX-3 compared to our Mazda 2! Did you get the part number? Could be worth trying another dealer?

The part number I bought was DB5P-28-1A0A but these could be specific to the Mazda 2.

Yep its a different part number. 28-111B

He sent me a picture to confirm it was the correct item.

Tried a different dealer and managed to get both sides for £76.68 inc VAT
My sone tried to change it the weekend but his wrench couldn't release the nut.
Going to take it to local independent garage to get them to do it.

Good luck. As always it pays to shop around. I am guessing it was the 17mm bolt at the bottom of the shock that was fighting you? I did blast mine with WD40 about 24 hours beforehand and probably got lucky.
