Somebody recently reversed into my car and damaged the painted plastic panel to the front of the bonnet above the radiator.

Now I've heard from a dealer that there are six different shades of Soul Red, and a rattle can I bought some time ago (2 pack so can't reuse) wasn't quite the right shade.

For this dent though I went to one of the well know mobile repairers "Chips Away". All was fine and they gave me a quote but then a week later told me they couldn't get hold of the paint.

Anybody know a good mobile repairer then that will do Mazda Soul Red? (North Oxford area)

Also does this problem exist for other Mazda shades

Can you ask a local Mazda dealer who they use for body repairs?
Soul Red and Soul Red Crystal are apparently a PITA to apply properly. In the factory the metallic particles can be made to all lie in the same orientation so that light reflects in the same way across the panel.

I've had Chipsaway repair two small dents on my CX3 in Soul Red Crystal and the paint match is perfect. Not cheap though

My Local dealer have referred me to a local approved repairer who have quote £650. Does that sound reasonable these days?

I note from ebay spares that panel seems to be part of same moulding as the bumper so you can't just buy that trim panel and spray.

For the paint code there is a sticker on the door jamb with just "46" on it but the following suggests 46V is the later "Crystal". My car is 2016 so should be code 41V from the following? :

PaintRef.com website (just paint codes) seems to indicate that a 2016 car could be either 3 part paint OR just metallic (later on in 2017 ?)

P.S. Anybody wanting other colour codes follow the Cx3 links on that page.

@Vincent66 give me your VIN and I can tell you your paint code as I have access to a Mazda database. Or ask a dealer.
However, bodyshops have electronic gauges that they use on your existing paint that will tell them what to mix to get a match.
