All recalls should be addressed as soon as possible.
If the fuel pump stops, your engine will stall without warning, so that one is a safety concern.
In some cases, not every vehicle that is the subject of a recall will exhibit symptoms, but ignoring any that could effect your or other road user's safety is like playing Russian roulette.
A garage is not allowed to sell a car with outstanding recalls.
You can check for outstanding recalls on your specific vehicle by entering its VIN on Mazda's website here -

As noted above I wouldn't dally around getting it sorted but at the same time, it won't cause serious mechanical damage short of any accidents that might arise from sudden loss of engine power etc. The impeller is part of the pump that moves the gas thru the device and onward thru the engine. Even a deformed impeller will likely move enough fluid to keep the engine going, and before complete failure, you would likely notice a loss in power, occasional 'stall' feelings etc. Feeling like it's about to stall but then it doesn't quite.

(Says the guy who repairs industrial pumps for a living and can explain a bit about why this is important and what a likely failure would feel like). Some of the impellers covered by the recall showed marks of cavitation)
