Got a letter today from Mazda UK saying “we are committed to providing you with an exceptional experience through our network of carefully selected partners ….” before in the next paragraph saying “due to a change in circumstance your local dealer has ceased operating as an Authorised Mazda Sales Dealership although it will continue to be a Mazda Authorised Repairer”. Hmm for how long eh 🤬🤬🤬

They then go on to identify 3 nearby Mazda Dealerships able to assist with future sales or service needs. These were those located at Romford, Braintree and taking the whatsit across the Thames at Crayford in Kent 🤣

Their dealership dealership coverage is now extremely poor / pathetic as there are now only 3 dealers selling new Mazdas for the whole of Essex with its population over over 1.5 million.

I think there's a strong possibility Mazda will very soon be going the way of Mitsubishi and pulling out of UK & Europe. A video I saw last night was listing the EV % sales of loads of legacy ICE manufactures and Mazda is at only around 5%! So well below the 22% it is supposed to be for 2024 meaning the company will be paying the £15,000 penalty for each car on a huge chunk of their sales in 2024 with much more in the next 5 years unless they expand their full EV models beyond the solitary MX-30 one. Hardly an electric car range spouted about on the website

Thanks to the idiotic rush to net zero, car production in the UK has fallen to half it's pre-pandemic levels. Successive governments seem hell bent on destroying the UK car industry and discouraging foreign investment.

EV sales seem to have plateaued at about 20% and the government has failed to introduce incentives to boost the take up. VAT on public charging needs to be immediately reduced to 5% and the introduction of VED and luxury car tax on new EVs from the 1st of April 2025 need scrapping. Public charging prices should be capped as some are as high as 80p/kWh for rapid chargers.

By 2030 the car industry needs to be selling 80% EVs and this figure seems absolutely ludicrous and impossible to achieve. That is unless the legacy car makers are all destroyed and we are all buying Chinese EVs! That said I would buy a Xiaomi SU7 if they are ever available here.

As for Mazda, they do seem to be on borrowed time in the UK. I would like to see their UK sales figures for the last 3 years. They do seem to be doing well in the US with big increases in sales volumes over the few years.

I don’t really care as long as after market spares are available when needed.
Have really enjoyed my CX3 and intend keeping it for at least another 2 years, by which time I’ll be nearly 80 and probably only driving short journeys-if that.

That’s very interesting and might be the spur I need to ditch the CX3 since it’s now the Deja Vu season. Snow or ice …lousy Mazda Toyo tyres rendering 4WD pointless and having to stay home.

Simple solution, change your tyres to those recommended by others on this forum instead of whinging.

I fitted my winter wheels and tyres on sunday and they have been brilliant. Had them for about 5 years and drove only 250 miles. I have doubled that in the last 3 days after getting bombed with about 50cm of snow. On packed snow they are brilliant.

The only problem is other motorists on summer tyres stuck and blocking the road or driving at 5mph!
