Hi all, I wonder if anyone has any advice, I was trying to remove the MAP/temperature sensor fitted into the plastic inlet manifold and the head of the screw snapped straight off with hardly any pressure on it, I have managed to rig a metal plate to keep it held in but it is literally only held in by carbon deposits and the metal plate in that it refused to come out with a light wiggle after the screw head snapped off. Does anyone have any ideas about what to do next to replace the screw and sensor.

Can you post a photo? Sounds like you need to drill out the screw thread with a HSS bit and the refit the MAP sensor with a slightly larger diameter screw.

Hi Percy thanks for your reply, I would need to either completely remove the plastic inlet manifold to drill it out or a right angle drill because there's not enough room between it and the radiator for a normal hand drill. It's the T25 torx head screw that holds the sensor in the manifold.
Also this is on the 2016 1.5Td skyactiv engine

That inlet air temp sensor is a nightmare to remove at the best of times. I remember using a tiny ratchet with a bit holder and it was still hard to access.

Removing the manifold will be a big job. If the right angled drill fails then I would probably look at bodging it with some black silicon sealant!
